Ronald Oglesby

Ron Oglesby, 73, of Midland, Texas was called to Heaven on Saturday, February 6, 2021. A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, Midland, Texas. Services will be at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Interment will follow at Placid Cemetery, Placid, Texas.

Ronald Howard Oglesby was born on December 27, 1947 in Brownwood, TX to Willis C. Oglesby and Wanda Kilmer Oglesby. During Ron’s early childhood his family lived in several Places, Abilene, Alpine, Roswell, Lubbock and finally Midland. Ron was called to military service during the Vietnam War and served his country proudly. He married Kathy Pittman Brewer in January 1984. Joining their families together they raised four amazing children, Johnny Brewer, Lori Oglesby Clevenger, Ron Oglesby, Jr. and James Oglesby.

Ron was an Eagle Scout and taught several times at Scout Camp. He loved his family and anything outdoors, fishing, golfing, hiking, but most of all he loved his Heavenly Father. He was a great man of faith and would witness to anyone who would listen. He began each day reading his bible and praying.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Midland; daughter Lori and her husband Jeff Clevenger; sons, Johnny Brewer, Ron Oglesby, Jr. and James Oglesby and wife December; two grandsons, Tyler and Bryce Clevenger all of Midland. Ron dearly loved and was very proud of the honest and faithful people they have grown to be.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Wanda Oglesby; sister, Sharon Oglesby Pearson; daughter-in-law, Anna Brewer; both sets of grandparents and his namesake Howard Kilmer killed in action over Germany during the World War II.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lone Star Animal Sanctuary or Wounded Warriors.
