Opal May Sylvester

Opal Sylvester, 94, of Cisco, took her eternal rest on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was born August 29, 1926 in Coleman County, Texas to Newton and Rhoda Hurst. She married Emmett Joe Sylvester, December 7, 1995 in Pearl, Mississippi. He preceded her in death August 24, 2014.

Opal retired from Eckerds after 25 years of service and dedicated the remaining time caring for her grandchildren and family pets. She was fiercely loved by her family who was the most important to her.

She is survived by her son Gary Mathews of Abilene, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Dwayne Drury of Jacksonville, Florida; Her sister Zelma Smith; her sister Maxine Dudash; her three granddaughters; 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Don Mathews; her sister Barbara Smith; her sister Rosalene Sylvester.
