Jo Ann Cook, 87, of Stanton, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at her residence. Memorial services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Benji Van Fleet, pastor, officiating. The service will live streamed at www.stantonumc.com
Jo Ann Cook was born on September 18, 1933. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Cook in 1950. He was the love of her life and they brought each other so much joy. Jo Ann built a beautiful life with Wayne and loved and cared for him and their 5 children. If you were around her for very long, you would know how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She only wanted the best for them and always looked forward to seeing them.
Jo Ann had a way of making Christmas a magical time and always made sure her trees were decorated to perfection. She always made sure everyone at her table had enough to eat. She had a servant’s heart and loved the Lord. She made the Cook house a home and her presence will live on through all of those she loved.
Jo Ann is survived by her daughter Ann Prough and husband Sam, Mike Cook and wife Liz, son Steve Cook and wife Trica, son Ronny Cook and wife Jana, and daughter Kimberly Baker and husband Lester.
Jo Ann had 16 grandkids and 14 great grandkids. She has one brother, Burly Polk and wife Mary Polk and numerous nieces and nephews. Jo Ann is preceded in death by husband Wayne of 59 years and her parents Bill and Lorena Polk.
