David Folger

David Edwin Folger, of Midland, Texas passed away on December 12, 2018.  A rosary will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland and a Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland.David was born on February 13, 1986 to Johanna and Gregory Folger in Midland, Texas.  David grew up in Midland, graduating from Greenwood High School in 2004.  He attended Midland College before embarking upon a career in the restaurant business.  David worked his way up from a server to management.  He was currently the kitchen manager at Bubba’s 33 Restaurant in Midland and had recently completed additional management training with the restaurant chain. He was hard working and dedicated to his career.  David met the love of his life, Renee Glasspoole, in Midland and they were married on November 5, 2016.  David was a loving husband, brother, and son.  He was a committed family man who loved spending time with family.  He was very close to his siblings, his parents and his many aunts, uncles and cousins and he was most devoted to his wife Renee.  David was a kind, generous man who loved people.  He touched so many lives with his kindness and his wonderful sense of humor.  He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand or help anyone in need.  He wore a ready smile and could always make you laugh with one of his stories.  He was an awesome story teller and a bit of a prankster, and could brighten the darkest day. He loved music, and was an accomplished trumpet player. He was a great cook and loved experimenting in the kitchen. He loved to travel, meet people and enjoy the many experiences of life’s journey.  He was much loved and will be missed by all who knew him.  David is survived by his wife Renee Folger, his parents, Johanna Patterson Folger and Gregory and Shari Folger;  his father and mother in-law Bret and Karon Glasspoole, his brothers, Kevin Folger and his wife Amber, Stephen Folger,  Ben Mizzles and his wife Ellen, Stuart Mizzles and his wife Adrianne; sister, Haley Cobos, Nicole Balderrama and her husband Richard, Lilly Wallas and her husband  Casey; his sister in-law Erin and her husband Matthew uncles, Richard Folger and his wife Lois, Mark Folger and his wife Janna, Paul Folger and his wife Terri, Anthony Folger and his wife Ann, Lorenzo Patterson;  aunts, Donna Hopper, Therese Sitzman and her husband Joe, Susie Patterson, Sylvia Cade and her husband Charles, and Laura Patterson; and cousins, Katherine Kavanagh, Christine Toft, Juston Hopper, Keegan Hopper, Trevor Hopper, Fallon Hopper, Dylan Hopper, Lia Folger, Aiden Folger, Ryan Folger, Jorden Brooks, Megan Sitzman, Emma Sitzman, Abigail Folger, Amelia Folger, Allison Folger, Thomas Cade and Robert Cade.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Mary Catherine Folger and Edwin and Lillie Patterson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Folger, Stephen Folger, Justin Spaglin, Cole Compton, Issac McQueen and Rex Rountree.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
