Bruce Parker, 80, of Knott, died Thursday, January 31, 2019, in a Big Spring hospital. Funeral services will 3:00 PM Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born October 24, 1938, in Big Spring, Texas to Fred and Isabell Parker and married Joyce Robinson April 8, 1961.
Bruce grew up in Sand Springs and Knott. He attended school at Coahoma Elementary from first to third grade, and then at Knott ISD until graduating in 1957. He served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He had many careers: farmer, car salesman, Cosden Refinery, barber, and was owner of Golden Pawn Shop from 1984 to 2000.
Bruce was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, above all.
Bruce cherished his wife of 57 years, Joyce, who survives him. He is also survived by three children, Stacy Thames and husband, Joe of Midland, Stan Parker and wife, Chavonna of Big Spring, and Shon Parker and wife, Gay Ann of Willow, Alaska; nine grandchildren, Tessa Gray and husband, Brady, Brice Burgess and wife, Helena, Kade Parker, Chelsey Crawford and husband, Jensen, Kyle Parker and wife, Marai, Jared Parker, Karrie Patterson, Kristy Jones and husband, Blake, and a very special Mary Anna Lemons; eight great-grandchildren, Brixen Gray, Kristian Burgess, Keslee Burgess, Katie Jones, Brycen Jones, Colby Jones, Jase Jones and Russell Parker; numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly; and many dear friends including a friend since childhood, Dick Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Parker; and a great-granddaughter, Ambra Storm Parker.
