Wanda Ruth Hayes

Wanda Ruth Hayes, 85, of Pecos, Texas passed away on November 16, 2018. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.Wanda was born on April 12, 1933 in Pecos, Texas to James \Milt\ Hamilton and Eunice Long. She graduated from Pecos High School and then went on to marry William Hayes and have her three beloved children, Paula Lytle, Pamela Steward, and William \Bud\ Hayes. She was very talented and enjoyed creating beautiful pieces for others mostly by sewing, painting, and refinishing furniture.Wanda is survived by her two children Paula Lytle and William \Bud\ Hayes, and her four sisters Louise White, Lucille Tilley, Jo Patillo, and Evelyn Conine. She was the loving \Nana\ of seven grandchildren including Shauna Rodriguez and her husband Junior, Kelly Waugh and her husband Dwayne, Michael Steward, Jason Steward and his wife Robyn, Landon Hayes and his wife Cara, Tanner Hayes and his wife Jodi, and Ricky Carr and his wife Carla. She was also blessed to have 17 great-grandchildren: Layna Steward, Riley and Reese Steward, Kelsey, Tyler, and Blake Rodriguez, Shayne Lytle, Baylie, Mason, and Paityn Worth, Parker and Liam Hayes, Laney, Kipton, and Kingston Hayes, and Chance and Sidney Carr. She will be missed dearly by all but will be forever in our hearts.Wanda was greeted in heaven by her parents Eunice Long and Milt Hamilton, daughter Pamela Steward, brother Ham Hamilton, two sisters Doris Kepplinger and Delores Walker, and great-grandson Mason Worth.The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Steve Miller and Dr. P.K. Patel, including their nursing staff, for their attention and compassion. Also to Midland Memorial Hospital and their hospice unit for the care that they provided for her in her last days.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
