Floy Maureen Shrode Heath, age 85, passed into her eternal home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17 at 11:00 am at Golf Course Road Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be held the hour immediately prior to the service at the “gathering space” at Golf Course Road Church of Christ. Burial will be held at the City Cemetery in Sulphur Springs TX, Sunday, November 18 at 11:00 am.Maureen was born on January 20, 1933 in Smith County, TX to Floyd and Lola Magee. At age 16, she married Gene Shrode. They spent the majority of their life together in West Texas. Maureen was primarily a wife and mother, but she was blessed with a multitude of talents. She was a friend to everyone. She was an example of joy, true hospitality, and left a legacy of faith, love, and laughter. She was the epitome of positivity, and the lives she touched are innumerable. In 1994, Gene passed away suddenly. She was blessed with a second marriage to Leon Heath. The years that they spent together were some of the happiest of her life. They lived together on their “farm” outside of Stephenville, TX. Her willingness to find love and beauty in everything resulted in these two rewarding marriages. She reached out to many, but her family was her priority. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lola Magee; her sister Doris Ferguson; her husband, Gene Shrode. She is survived by her husband, Leon Heath; her sister Kay Hargrove and husband Bobby of Ada, OK; her children Roy and Janet Shrode of Midland; Nancy Drew of Austin; Liz Lowery of Amarillo; and John Shrode of Midland; ten grandchildren: Dana Parham, her husband Trent, and daughters Paytan and Presley; Daron Shrode, his wife Sarah and daughters Kathryn, Rebecca, and Melody; Devin Shrode, his wife Cynthia and son Macsen; Tyler Brough, his wife Denise and son Odie; Trenton Brough, his wife Crystal and daughter Kambel; Clark Lowery, Jr.; Mitchell Lowery; Trey Lowery; Stephanie Herbison and husband David; Courtney Shrode; and eight great grandchildren.
