JA Smith, 93, of Big Spring died Saturday, November 10, 2018, at his home. A graveside service will be held at the Vealmoor Cemetery at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, with Chaplain Walter McCall officiating.JA Smith was born October 16, 1925 in Lynn County. JA lived life to the fullest, worked hard, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to fish and his garden was his pride and joy. For most of his life he was a cowboy ranch hand.Survivors include one brother, Everette Lee Smith of Big Spring, TX; and two sisters, Evea Marie Pounds of Big Spring, TX and Lola Mae Foster and husband, Leo of Duncan, Oklahoma. He had many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and family who loved him.He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Hines Smith, and his mother, Myrtle Lola Howell Smith; five brothers, Leovid Smith, Edward Preslie Smith, Alvin Leslie Smith, LD Smith and RA Smith; and two sisters, Velma Harlene Knowlton and Beaulah Lenorah Foster.In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be sent to Kindred Hospice, 1900 Scurry St., Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
