“Cindy” Cynthia Marie Siems Vorheis, 71, of Midland, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at the Littlefield Cemetery in Littlefield, TX.Cindy was born on November 4, 1946 to Athalia and James Siems in Littlefield, TX.She was a resident of Midland since 1968. Cindy was Cafeteria Supervisor at Greenwood schools for eight years and worked for Linton Industries for two years. She was active in the community and was an original member of the Northeast Midland County Volunteer Fire Department. She had a love for animals and would not turn away any stray that showed up on her doorstep. One of her favorite things was Genealogy and she spent many hours at a time researching and documenting her family history.She is survived by brother, Darrell Siems and wife Dena, Allen, TX; step-niece, Angela Snider of Texarkana, TX and step-nephews Michael Snider, Clinton Snider and Clayton Snider all of Allen, TX; brother, Dean Siems and wife Nancy, Prattville, AL; niece, Tasha Siems; nephew, Harrison Siems and step-nephews Kyle Smyth and Joshua Smyth all of Prattville, AL.She is preceded in death by mother, Athalia Siems; father, James Siems; and son, Tommy Vorheis.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to Noah's Arc Animal Rescue, PO Box 51051, Midland, Texas 79710, 432-235-8516.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
