Margaret Joyce Smith

Margaret Joyce Smith, 92, of Midland, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Midland. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 1:00PM at Spade Community Cemetery in Colorado City, TX.Margaret was born on January 11, 1925 to Dovie and Claude Crouse in Coahoma, TX. She married Loyd Smith and they owned and operated Loyd’s Place in Colorado City and following retirement she worked as a cook at the Spade Ranch. Her passion and love was for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Nix of Midland; son, Alton Currie of Henderson, TX; stepsons, Allen and Skeet Smith both of Sweetwater, TX; stepdaughters, Beth Cade of Waco, TX and Annette Privitt of Dallas, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Smith; parents, Dovie and Claude Crouse.The family asks that memorials be donated to Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City, TX.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
