Lee B. Herndon, 92, of Big Spring, died Sunday, December 10, 2017 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. There will be a private family committal service.He was born May 17, 1925 in Jones County, Texas and married Neva Rue Conner February 21, 1952 in Colorado City, Texas.Lee served in the United States Navy on the USS Hughes during World War II and was in many of the major battles in the Pacific Theater. After the war Lee attended Abilene Christian College and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor in Business Degree. He moved to Big Spring in 1954 and had worked as an accountant for Jones-Laughlin Steel, CRMWD, Shroyer Motor Company and Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Lee had been a member of Howard ARC and had served as treasurer.Survivors include his wife, Neva Rue Herndon of Big Spring; one daughter, LeAnn Bruton of Bandera; two grandchildren, Jason Baskin of Nashville, Tennessee and Lauren Bowman and husband, Robert, of San Antonio; and two brothers, Eldon Herndon of Midland and Jack Stanley Herndon of Abilene.He was preceded in death by his parents; Clifton W. and Ruby Herndon; two brothers; C.B. Herndon and W.D. Herndon and a son-in-law, Martin Bruton.The family suggests memorials to 14th and Main Church of Christ, 1401 S. Main St., Big Spring, Texas 79720 or to Howard County ARC, P. O.
