Margaret Olean Shannon, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Midland Memorial Hospital, in Midland.She was born December 17, 1950 in Houston, Texas. She married William Shannon on February 12, 1972 in Stanton, Texas. She worked as a house keeper most of her adult life and loved what she did. She always loved taking care of others and was very passionate about doing so. Margaret was a simple person and never wanted for much. She enjoyed chatting with family and friends over the phone, and the times that she had with her grandchildren. She loved her husband, her son, her daughter, her many grandchildren, and her great grandchildren unconditionally.She is survived by her husband William (Bill) Shannon, her son Brian Shannon-Garza and husband Gabe Shannon-Garza, and her daughter Audra Hicks; grandchildren, Braden, Jimmy, and Jadlyn Brown; granddaughter Christy Jimenez and husband Blake Jimenez; great grandchildren: Lydia, Savannah, and Dixie Jimenez; brothers, Jerry and Robert Earl Barber; one sister, Nadean Barber; and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her father William Barber, mother Josephine Barber, brother William Barber, Jr., and brother Joe Lee Barber.The family would like to thank all the staff at Midland Memorial Hospital for all the care you gave to Margaret until her death. The family would also like to thank all the staff at Permian Basin Dialysis for all the years of care that they gave to Margaret.
