Fidencio Banda, 59 of New Deal, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Fidencio was born on August 11, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to Benito Q. Banda and Delia Lujan. He was a dedicated employee of Texas Tech University for over 20 years. Fidencio was a lifelong resident of New Deal, Texas. He enjoyed spending time with his son and family.Fidencio is survived by his son, Matthew F. Ortiz and his wife, Vickie Ortiz of Midland, TX. His pride and joy were his granddaughters, Carly and Mallory; his mother, Delia Jimenez of Lubbock, TX; four brothers, Benito Banda and wife, Yolanda of Houston, TX; Gilbert Banda of Austin, TX; Vicente Jimenez of Laredo, TX; Jesse Jimenez of Lubbock, TX; five sisters, Janie Wynn and husband, Danny of Mesa, Arizona; Cecilia Tyler and husband, Mark of Cibolo, TX; Esther Jimenez of Lubbock, TX; Rayetos Valdez and husband, Jesse of Cibolo, TX; Vivian Dominguez and husband, Raul of Lubbock; TX; sister/cousin, San Juana Delgado of Lubbock, TX; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He is preceded in death by his father, Benito Q. Banda and grandmother, Lila Hernandez.We celebrate his life beginning with a Rosary which will be on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland.His son’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Hogan Park Nursing Home who cared for Fidencio.
