Richard Donovan (Don) Lemmon, 77, of Midland passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016. No services are being held at this time.He was born on June 9, 1938 in Linden, Texas to Alvin Felix and Sheila Lemmon. He became a police officer with the Odessa Police Department in 1960. In 1961, he transferred to the Midland Police Department. At the time of his passing he was employed with the Midland College Police Department and an active leader with the COPS (Citizens on Patrol) program. Don was an avid football fan and loved motorcycles. He was loved so very much and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Sheila Lemmon.He is survived by his daughter, Donna Wamsley of Austin, Texas; son, Thomas Lemmon of Round Rock, Texas; brothers, Dwayne Lemmon of Atlanta, Texas and Pat Lemmon of Kingsland, Texas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; and numerous friends.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Home Hospice, 200 W. Illinois, Ste. 190 Midland, TX 79701; COPS; or a charity of choice. ,
