David Rhea Lightner, 81, of Stanton, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 in Midland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.David was born on May 31, 1934 to Rhea and Winnie Lightner in Graham, TX. David retired as a printer and then retired from the Martin County Senior Citizen in Stanton. He was a man that was wealthy in friends and never met a stranger. He always had the best sense of humor in which he kept until the end. David loved his family, friends and loved life.\A Breath of Air\A special love is formed and a bond for a lifetime. It all starts with that first breath of air.There is something to say about the love between a father and daughter. It all starts from the moment that first breath is taken.Daddy's little girl, daughter's first love. You look up to him and he guides you through life teaching you to be the person you are today.It starts off and he's your hero, years go by and memories are made, tears are shed and laughter is heard.
