Wanda Joyce Haynes TitchenBorn: January 14, 1934Died: August 25, 2015Wanda Joyce Haynes Titchen, age 81, was born in Longview, Texas, on January 14, 1934 and went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 25, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Richard Willard Titchen; one daughter, Ivy Joyce Millsap Tabor of Rahway, New Jersey; one step-daughter, Robin Wanda Titchen of Medford, Oregon; three step-sons: Richard Willard Titchen, Jr of Endicott, New York; Randall William Titchen of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Regan Wayne Titchen of Castle Rock, Washington; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; one brother, George Jerald Haynes and wife Carolyn of Rockwall, Texas; four sisters: Connie Joe Haynes Seals and husband Bobby of Conroe, Texas; Goldie Jeanelle Haynes Permenter and husband Wally of Midland, Texas; Carol Jane Haynes Faychak and husband Al of Midland, Texas; Janice Sue Haynes Kindel of Lewisville, Texas along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Goldie Pauline Welch Haynes, born October 15, 1914 and died January 18, 1995; her father, George Joseph Haynes, born May 5, 1913 and died November 20, 2000; and one brother, James Gary Haynes, born June 22, 1940 and died, January 15, 2013.Wanda was a 1951 graduate of Tomball High School in Tomball, Texas, where she was in the band and played the bell lyre in marching band. She was also honored as the Class Salutatorian. Wanda was runner-up in the Lions Club Beauty Pageant when she was in high school.Wanda and Richard were married March 7, 1969 in Lovington, New Mexico, and were blessed by God with five children and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was always giving herself unselfishly to her family’s needs.Wanda worked at Leaco in Lovington, NM as an accountant and data processor. She retired in 1993 after 30 years of service. Wanda was involved in the music ministry of First Baptist Church in Bloomington, Texas and First Baptist Church in Lovington, New Mexico, serving as the church pianist. She also sang in the choir at the First Baptist Church in Midland. Wanda’s love for God radiated from her when she played beautiful preludes, offertories and hymns and she touched many lives through her artistry. Wanda lived out her love for Christ by loving other people and used her spiritual gifts and talents to the Glory of God.Wanda demonstrated courage, tenacity, and spiritual depth during the last few years of her life as she battled her illness. Her struggle is now over. Her victory is won . . . because we are always more than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us.Wanda’s celebration service will be held at First Baptist Church Chapel in Midland, TX on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 5:00 pm. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00-5:00 pm prior to the service.
