Gerald (Jerry) D. Wood, 75, of Midland, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Graveside services will be held at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10:00am.Jerry was born on May 1, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas. He is survived by his parents, Oliver and Mary Louise Wood; his daughters, Valerie Garcia (husband Jeff) and Maggie Cummings; brothers, John Wood (wife Brenda) and Bow Wood (wife Lisa); and four grandchildren, Shannon, Jacob, Alexis, and Jessie. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Sarah Boering and her children, Marta, Mary Todd, and Josh.Jerry loved his family, friends, animals, good food, dancing, odd little tidbits on any subject, music, and especially sports. He spent several years as a football official for the area high schools.
