On Friday morning, May 2, 2014, Thurman Falls Cox found himself in the arms of Jesus. Thurman was 91 years old. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 5:00-7:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 1:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel with Steve Baker officiating.Thurman was born on August 2, 1922 in Rising Star, Texas to Willie and Ella Cox. He served in the Air Force during WWII and then returned to Rising Star where he married Beulah and worked for several years before going to work for El Paso Natural Gas for the remainder of his working life. During that time, he and his family lived in Jal, New Mexico, Denver City, Texas, Gallup, New Mexico, and finally Kermit, Texas where he retired and lived several years before moving to Midland. During these years they accumulated many cherished friends for which he and his family will be forever grateful.He leaves behind Beulah Cox, his wife of 66 years, his daughter, Karen Newman, son-in-law, Brent Newman, granddaughter, Lindsey Newman all from Cedar Park, Texas, grandson, Jeff Newman and his wife, Emily Newman of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews scattered around the states of Texas and New Mexico.Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ella Cox. Thurman was the youngest of 9 children and is preceded in death by all; Ida Sherill, Charles Cox, Manon Cox, Reta Richardson, Georgie Smith, Beck Cox, Maggie Christian, and Jo Ella McLaughlin.,
