Joe Stocks

Joe Stocks, 84, of Big Spring, died Friday, March 28, 2014 in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Spring Creek Fellowship with Derrick Looney, officiating.He was born May 4, 1929 in the Brown Community in Howard County, Texas and married Jerrie Dorris November 14, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas.Joe served in the United States Army and worked at Cosden Refinery for 21 years. He then worked on the Executive Board for Kenneth Copeland Ministries for 25 years. Joe had served as a chaplain for the law enforcement and fire departments in Howard County. He was an avid golfer and had played in several ProAm golf tournaments.Survivors include his wife, Jerrie Stocks of Big Spring; two daughters, Judy Osborn and husband, Larry of Big Spring and June Ferguson and husband, Philip of Wiley; a sister, Maxine Davis and husband, Richard of Hamilton; one brother, Hershel Stocks and wife, Charlesie of Marble Falls; and one grandson.He was preceded in death by his parents, R. C. and Bertie Stocks; and a daughter, La Donna Truesdale.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
