Robert Nash, 93, died February 18, 2014 in Midland, Texas. Robert was born June 4, 1920 to Edmond Marcus Nash and Atha Johnston in Monroe, Louisiana. He married Peggy Nichols November 22, 1986 in Midland.Robert graduated from Odessa High School in 1936. He graduated from SMU in 1950 and worked as a reporter for both the Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Times Herald; in later years he reviewed books on economics and politics for the Dallas Morning News and Houston Chronicle. He was a Shriner and Rotarian. He taught at Baylor University. He was stationed at Pyote Air Force Base training B-17 crews during World War II. He worked as a stock broker for Merrill Lynch before becoming a self-employed broker dealer. He retired in 1985 and moved to Midland in 1987. He was an avid reader and market analyst and writer. He and Peggy wrote Mr. McCamey: The Life of a Texas Oil Man (Eakin Press, Austin). Robert was a member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.Robert is survived by his wife Peggy, niece Jean Humphreys of Arlington, and nephew Marshall Nash Surratt of Denton.Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church with Rev. David B.
