Dorothy Hamilton Davis, a resident of Midland, Texas for over 50 years, died on April 28, 2013, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas with Gary N. Selby officiating. The daughter of Horace and Nobye Hamilton, a Pioneer Family of Martin County, Texas, she was born in Stanton, Texas on October 21, 1918. A graduate of Stanton High School and Federal Institute Business College in Tyler, Texas, she was associated with the legal profession for 31 years, retiring from Texaco Inc.s Midland Division Legal Department. Mrs. Davis had memberships in the First United Methodist Church, Midland, the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Texaco Inc.s Retirees Club, National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, and was a Charter member of the Legal Secretaries Association of Midland. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Selby and husband Gary N. Selby of Raleigh, North Carolina; a son, Cecil DeWayne Davis, Jr. (Deen) and wife Holly Davis of Burleson, Texas; five granddaughters, Celeste Selby Tydingco and husband Troy of Sitka, Alaska, Seana Selby Gentry and husband Keith of Live Oak, Florida, Sarah Selby Musgrove and husband Eric of Live Oak, Florida, Tammy Kimmel and husband, Jared of Waxahachie, Texas and Melissa Davis-Reeves and husband, Cole of Hico, Texas; one grandson, Gary N. Selby, Jr. of Wilmington, NC; three great grandsons, Cadyn and Cale Gentry of Live Oak, Florida, and Alex Musgrove of Live Oak, Florida; and three great granddaughters, Abby Musgrove of Live Oak, FL, Ashlyn Summers of Waxahachie, Texas, and Zoe Tydingco of Sitka, AK. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil DeWayne Davis; her parents; two brothers, Horace C. Hamilton and Cecil Hamilton; and one sister, Lela Hamilton.
