Beverly Singley JunellBeverly Singley Junell passed away quietly at home in Midland, from pancreatic cancer, accompanied by her family. She was 64 years old.A Memorial Service is scheduled to be held at First Presbyterian Church in Midland, Texas on Saturday, May 12th at 10AM.The family will receive friends the evening before at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring Street, from 6-8PM.Beverly was born July 20, 1947 to the late Jones William and Margaret Singley in Wellington, Texas, and preceded in death by her sister, Jennifer. She received her bachelor's degree in Art Education from Texas Tech University where she met and married Robert Alan Junell in 1968. She served in student government at the University. After graduation she taught Art while Robert finished his degree and coached Texas Tech football. In 1970, Robert went on active duty in the U.S. Army and they spent 6-months in the states while Robert went through military training. They then moved to Germany for 3 years to serve with the Army and have their first child, Robert Ryan. They traveled Europe on weekends and skied the Alps avidly. They returned to the states in 1974 and lived in Lubbock where Beverly taught Art while Robert attended Law School. After Law School they moved to El Paso where Robert practiced law and Keith Elizabeth was born. In 1979, they moved to San Angelo where Robert continued his law career and Clay Jones was born.Beverly was an avid horseman, polo player, tennis player, expert skier, active in the First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo playing in the hand bell and singing choirs as well as serving on the board of Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Angelo. She was actively involved in the arts in San Angelo and served on several committees while singing in the San Angelo Symphony Chorale. She was dedicated to her children traveling with them to soccer and field hockey tournaments all over Texas. She was adamant about forcing them to take several years of piano lessons.She and Robert moved to Midland in 1993 when Robert was appointed as a U.S. District Judge by President George Bush. Beverly was active in the hand bell and church singing choirs as well as several other activities at First Presbyterian Church in Midland. She and Robert loved their getaway weekends in Ruidoso, NM where they would ski and hike. She is survived by a son, Robert Ryan and wife Tanya from Connecticut; a daughter, Keith Elizabeth Statler and husband Aaron from Austin; and a son, Clay Jones and wife Samantha also from Austin; and their children. She is also survived by her sister Linda Stansbury and husband Ted of Amarillo; sister Cathy Sondergaard and husband John of Bulverde; her late sister, Jennifer Burdette's daughter Julie Hodges and husband Corey of San Angelo and their families. The Singley girls had a very special relationship traveling together regularly, having inherited their family farm in Wellington, Texas. They traveled around the world to have their annual "board meetings".The family has been humbled by the outpouring of prayers and messages of kind words throughout this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Midland, First Presbyterian Church of Midland, M.D. Anderson Hospital of Houston, or your favorite charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Rob, Please accept my sympathy for the loss of Beverly. We haven't seen each other in a long time but, I will be with you in spirit.

I (Tatiana) only met Mrs. Junell once, during my internship with Judge Junell last summer. She struck me as a lively, charming and intelligent woman. I cannot even imagine how heartbroken Judge Junell and the family must be now. Our prayers for peace and comfort go out to your family.

Rob: Our thoughts, love and prayers are with you and your family. Beverly had such a kind heart and soul and everyone that she met during her lifetime was touched in one way or another by her thoughtfulness and kindness. She will be remembered fondly by all of us who were fortunate enough to know her.

Beverly was one of the wisest women I have known. Full of life and quick to realize what really mattered in this life. She will be missed greatly. So sorry for your loss, but glad she is looking down from Heaven at you all.

Robert, Linda , and Cathy : My prayers are with you. What a wonderful sister, wife, mother and person. Being an only child from a "big city", I was pretty amazed at the action that went on in Wellington when I stayed with you girls. I loved Jones and Mag, and had never imagined four sisters that got along so well! Imagine my surprise when Beverly came to Tech and ended up marrying one of the nicest boys to come out of Lubbock! Beverly loved going to movies when she couldn't be skiing, hiking, or with her family, so when we would both be in Austin to support our husband's activities in the legislature, and didn't have meetings to attend, we'd go to a movie. One day Beverly called me and was bored waiting for an event that we had to attend later that day, so we went to a movie, then stayed for another, and another. We watched 3 movies that day and had a blast together eating junk food and just being girlfriends. This was one of my special memories about my vivacious friend. She made life fun, interesting, and always enlightening. May God Bless her soul. I know he has already.

I enjoyed singing with Beverly for many,many years in the choir at First Presbyterian in San Angelo. Her strong alto voice was a blessing to the choir. I am sad for the loved ones she leaves behind, but rejoice that she is home with her savior singing in the heavenly choirs. Prayers to her sweet family.

Beverly and I met in the Methodist Church Nursery in Wellington, Texas when we were 5 years old. We were best friends forever for 60 years...and will keep on being best friends even now! She has and will always be in my heart as a truly caring and wonderful person. She always thought of others first. She was always there first for all her friends...thinking of how to make their lives more fun....and making any event as colorful as possible. I adored her for her spunk and sponteneity and for her deep love for humans and her animals. She will be missed everyday as the rest of us continue on. Jan Glenn

For all the years I knew Beverly she was always the calm in the storm. The one who worried less about the deadline and doing a good job, and more about slowing down and doing a GREAT job. The one who seemed unaffected when bedlam reigned around her. The one who kept the steady course. I was so lucky to have her in my life. Beverly walked with the Lord her whole life and today she smiles down on us. Thank you Beverly for all you taught me by example. Dear Rob and family: I grieve for you and do not pretend to comprehend the void left in your life today. Truly, she is out of awful pain and suffering. While I did not know her, from reading the tributes here, I would say gently: "Chin up and ride!"

Many condolences to the Junell family. I worked at the Junell's ranch near San Angelo while I was in grad school, and Beverly was a bit of a hero to me. She was equally at home assisting with a campaign or tearing apart a 4-wheeler or tuning up a polo pony. She was just a wonderful person...so poised, and yet not afraid to jump into the thick of any problem. It was an honor to have known her.

I am so sorry for all the family members. We will sorely miss Beverly, she was a card, and respected and admired by all. She was also a tough customer, and tried to live life in the fullest for herself, and family. My condolences. She will never be forgotten. Bobby Hudson. That smile of hers was absolute.

I can only say "Amen!" to all the wonderful things covered in Beverly's obituary.When Tom and I lived in kermit we would usually run in to them at Luby's cafeteria and have a short but nice visit.I especially remember how much she looked forward to Christmas in Rusidoso with all her family around.Beverly was really a special person and is going to be missed by all of us fortunate enough to call her friend.
