Agnes Theresa "Sue" Kleypas Hirt passed away quietly Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Midland Memorial Hospital West Campus surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Temple, Texas, and as a child loved visiting relatives in that area. She grew up in San Angelo, Texas and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and San Angelo Public Schools. Sue is survived by her husband of 64 years, Sidney Hirt. They were married in 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in San Angelo. She was looking forward to a family celebration in April for their 65th wedding anniversary. Before they were married Sue worked at the San Angelo Telephone Company in San Angelo. After their marriage, her real work began as a homemaker and mother of six. Surviving her is her sister Doris Gregson, Phoenix, AZ, four daughters: Judy Hirt Dalman (John) Keller, TX, Lisa Hirt Miksch, LaVernia, TX, Becky Hirt West (Ira) Del Rio, TX, and Kim Hirt Tanner, College Station, TX, and two sons, Ronnie Hirt (Carla), St. Lawrence, TX and Steven Hirt (Millie), Midland, TX. Grandma Sue's grandchildren loved going out to St. Lawrence to visit and eat her home-cooked meals fresh out of the garden.They also enjoyed hunting and fishing on the farm. Grandchildren are: Jason Watts, Chris Watts, Heather Hirt Clark, Brazos Hirt, Christie Hirt Hinton, Cody Hirt, Micah Miksch, Sarah West Sigmon, Joshua Tanner, and Jarrod Tanner. She has 9 great-grandchildren and 3 more expected this year. Sue was a long-time member of St Lawrence Catholic Church and the St. Theresa Altar Society in St. Lawrence, TX. Rosary will be held at Nalley Pickle Funeral Home in Midland on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. Mass and Burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. She will be missed greatly, but she will join her family members who have passed before her including her parents Guido and Lillian Kleypas, her brothers Guido Jr. and LeeRoy Kleypas, and her parents-in-law, Frank and Alma Hirt.
