On Friday, February 3, 2012, Willie Dow Ellison passed from this life to eternity with his Lord and Savior. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, February 6 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. Two of his grandsons, Reverend Caleb Lain, and Reverend Cody Lain will be officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Willie Dow, better known as Bill, was born in Jayton, Texas on June 11, 1920 to Emmit and Lois Arms Ellison. He joined the U.S. Navy a few days after Pearl Harbor. He was a long time member at Wilshire Park Baptist Church. He married his sweetheart, Mary Tonn Ellison on April 9, 1943. They were married for 59 years. Bill was a successful paint contractor in Midland, Texas for over 30 years. He retired and moved to "The Joyous Forty" in Comanche, Texas where he raised cattle and enjoyed his family coming to visit. Bill was a simple, humble man who loved his family and friends. His favorite pastimes were fishing and watching football. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ann Arms Maynard, his beloved wife, Mary Tonn Ellison, and a son, Richard D. Ellison. To cherish his wisdom and memory, he leaves his son Don Ellison and wife Sue of San Angelo; his daughter Mary Ellison Lain and her husband Dr. Gilbert Lain of Amarillo; a daughter -in-law, Mary Sue Ellison Johnston of Midland; six grandchildren, Christy Ellison Davis and husband Dr. Randy Davis, Aaron Dow Ellison, Richard Andrew Ellison and wife Misty, Caleb Ted Lain, Cody Dale Lain and wife Elizabeth, Krissie Lain Garland and husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Jacob Chad Ellison, Preston Lee Davis, Piper Christian Davis, Sydney Grace Ellison, Chastin Riley Ellison, Jackson Hugh Davis, Sidney Ellison, Tanner Ellison, Trinity Ellison and Luke Barron Lain. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ellison, Andy Ellison, Caleb Lain, Cody Lain, Eric Garland, Preston Davis, Randy Davis, and Jake Ellison.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. This tribute is to the man that taught me more about life, integrity and morals than anyone I know. He influenced not only my life, but the lives of all my children and grandchildren. If anyone was ever an outstanding role model, he was. Thank you Pepa for everything! I love you and miss you. Glad you are home with Jesus and loved ones and we will see you again before too long.

Im gonna miss you pepa, I know you are happy now and with our Lord. I've thought you were waiting untill I straightened out my life some what before you went on to be with mema and dad, if there is any truth to that, I hope you felt comfortable about how I've been doing for a while now! I will do my best to make you proud untill I see you again. You have always been exactly what I believe a real man should be, and if I can raise my girls and live the rest of my days just half as honorably as you have, I will be a true success! For the most wonderful and unforgetable memories of adventure and laughter, dinners with family - this wonderful man will always have a place in my heart! I thank God that I had the priviledge of having him as a part of my life! Rest in Peace my dear Uncle Bill!
