Pedro Pia, 80, of Midland, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at his residence. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, August 8, 2011 at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church in Midland with Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Midland. Pallbearers will be Mario Pia, Julio Cesar Pia, Ramiro Pia, Ricky Pia, Luis Angel Magallanes, Reyes Guerrero. Pedro was born on April 14, 1931 to Sara and Pedro Pia in Mexico. He was an excellent husband as well as a great father. One of his special qualities was maintaining his yard due to his passion for nature. He found humor in everything, never negative always positive. He strongly believed in keeping families united regardless of their differences. Our father was the strongest, honest and most responsible person in our lives. Needless to say he was a people person! We will miss you dearly and always love you. Survivors include his wife, Martina Pia of Midland; son, Felipe Pia of Midland; son, Gaspar Pia of Mexico; son, Eloy Pia of Mexico; daughter, Maria Eunice Guerrero of Midland; son, Rigo Pia of Midland; daughter, Hermelinda (Mili) Magallanes of Midland; son, Carlos Pia of Midland; daughter, Elvia Pia of Midland; son, Antonio (Tony) Pia of Midland; daughter, Zoila Pia of Midland; daughter, Idalia (Laly) Pia of Midland; daughter, Leticia (Letty) Jimenez of Midland; and daughter, Laura Pia of Midland; 1 brother, Nicanor Pia of Mexico; 2 sisters, Socorro Garcia of Dumas, Texas; and Concepcion Tavares of Mexico; 34 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
