C. H. "Buddy" Arrick Jr., 77, of Odessa, formerly of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in an Odessa nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 4:30 PM, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Walter McCall, officiating.He was born on July 5, 1933, in Maryneal, Texas. Buddy lived in Big Spring most of his life and had worked as a drilling superintendent for several oil companies in the West Texas area before retiring. He was a Baptist.Survivors include a son, Buddy of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Joni of Wichita Falls; two brothers, John Arrick and wife, Sidney of Odessa, and Jerry Arrick and wife Georgia of Big Spring; four sisters, Bonnie Burris and husband, Darrell of Lake Buchanan, Sue Larimore of San Angelo, Sonja Patterson and husband, Phil of Austin, and Sherri Wisener of Burnett; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Arrick; his parents, C.H. and Jewell Arrick and two sisters, Claudia Arrick and Mary McCullough.The family would like to thank the staffs of both Parks Methodist Nursing Home and Compass Hospice of Odessa for their loving care shown to Buddy.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
