Shirley Jean Killough Swinney Vest went peacefully home to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 5, 2011, after a valiant fight with cancer. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family.Shirley was born on May 5, 1942 in Big Spring, Texas to Willie Collins Killough and Ollie Mae Williams Killough. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Sam and Robert Killough and sisters, Freda Kohler, Willie Jo Killough and Margie Pramley. Shirley was an active member of the Westside Church of Christ and she loved her Lord with all her heart. Her passion was to share her faith with her family and others and her legacy will live on long after she is gone. She believed that all things are possible with God and she looked forward to her reward in heaven.Shirley considered her greatest gift to be her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son Andy Swinney and wife Kim, daughters, Andrea Hernandez and husband Danny, Anita McKee and husband Kirk, and son, Alan Swinney and wife Diana. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.Other family survivors are her sisters, Luna Lane and husband Chuck, Faye Gresset and husband Phillip, Della Hogue and husband Bobby, Donnie Trautman and husband Tom, and her brothers, James Killough and wife Rhonda, and Bobby Killough and wife Linda.The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Midland for their loving care during Shirley's illness.The family will receive vistors on Monday, February 7, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Shirley's life and to praise her Lord will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Westside Church of Christ. Mike Vestal and Don Mitchell will officiate with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be Shirley's grandchildren, Jordan Swinney, Meaghan Swinney, Ryan Hernandez, Dustin Hernandez Gavin Inskeep and Justin Swinney.The family requests that memorials be made to Westside Church of Christ, 4410 W.
