Avis W. Billingsley, 80, of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 9, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, Texas with Rev. Terrell Romberg, Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.She was born on May 10, 1926 in Whiteflat, Texas to William Guy Kimbell and Edith Robison Kimbell. She married James "Jimmie" Pollard Billingsley, Jr. on February 8, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas. She moved to Midland in 1961 and was a past Sunday school teacher at Northside Baptist Church, Oaklawn Park Baptist Church and was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She moved to Claremore in 1998. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Little People of America, an accomplished seamstress, received her watchmaker's degree in Wichita Falls, Texas, loved to work on watches and clocks, and was a spunky lady who loved her family. Survivors include husband, James P. "Jimmy" Billingsley, Jr. of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara and Ed McKinney of Claremore, Oklahoma; daughter, Sandy Chapman of Odessa; brother, Guy Kimbell, Jr. of Amarillo, ; sister & brother-in-law, Isabell and Buddy Gambrell of Forsan, ; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by by her parents and 1 sister: Melba Jane Joiner.
