Byron R. "Bud" Grover passed away March 10, 2006.Bud Grover was born April 22, 1934 to Byron Robert and Florence Grover in Mount Sterling, Illinois. He graduated from Peoria High School in 1952. He married Roberta Janet Bennie in England and they had 3 children. Bud served in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller from 1952 until retiring in 1974. He was stationed overseas and served with honor in the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Road Runner Trophies in Clovis, NM and owner of Air Forms Radio Control jet aircraft manufacturing.Bud later married Bernadette Sandoval of Clovis, NM in 1983. In 1984, Bud graduated Magna Cum Laude with his Masters in Psychology from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM and was an instructor in psychology and art at ENMU. In 1985, Bud moved to Hobbs, NM and worked for the State of NM, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and later with Leaders Industries, a mental health company. In 1990, he relocated to Midland and worked for Permian Basin Community Centers. Bud also worked for the Boy Scouts Buffalo Trail Council in Midland helping with the writing of grants.Bud was a member of Ranchland Hills Country Club and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He also enjoyed computers, military history, painting and reading. He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife, Bernadette of Midland; his brother, Robert Grover and wife, Donna, of Pekin, IL; two daughters, Roberta Lee Rice and husband, Kyle, of Silver City, NM and Melony Sue Sampson and husband, Bill, of Plattsmouth, NE; and a son, Steven Clay Grover and wife, Valorie, of San Diego, CA. Eight grandchildren, two great-grand daughters, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive Bud.Honorary pallbearers are Bob Reimers, Jack Sherrick, Scotty Alcorn, Don Daniel, Gene Mays, Randy Keena, A. A. "Poosty" Jones, Buddy Redden, Don Cox, Jim Gentry, Baker Hallford and Jim "Smurf" Aden.Visitation will be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St., between 6 PM and 8 PM on Monday, March 13, 2006.Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 4601 Neely Ave. in Midlnad, Texas. Bud's final resting place will be in Santa Fe, NM at the Sante Fe National Cemetery for veterans for service to our country.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Hospice, 901 W.
