Bill Phipps, 67, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 18, 2005, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. R. T. Havener, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating.He was born on September 9, 1938, in Moweaqua, Illinois and married Wanda Clawson on July 21, 1960 in Big Spring.Bill served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring. He worked for Energas for 35 years, retiring in 1998 as a Senior Service Tech. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.Survivors include his wife, Wanda Phipps of Big Spring; one son, Tony Ray Phipps of Big Spring; one daughter, Kimberly Ray Phipps; his mother-in-law, Goldie Clawson of Big Spring; a sister-in-law, Shirley Ryals of Big Spring; three granddaughters, including special granddaughter, Toni Rae Phipps of Big Spring; and four nieces including special nieces, Joy Cox of Phoenix, Arizona and Amanda Ryals of Big Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Eunice Phipps and one sister, Regina Brown.Pallbearers will be Wesley Carroll, Bobby Brasel, Donnie Paige, Pete Hernandez, Craig Clark and Harvey Winn.
