Walter L. Osborne

Walter L. Osborne, 88, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2005, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Dave Ring, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on September 15, 1917, in Gloversville, New York and married Opal K. Chapman on September 8, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 30, 1999.Mr. Osborne had served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for Cosden Oil and Chemical for thirty one years, retiring on March 31, 1982. Walter loved to bowl and was active in the Big Spring Bowling Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.Survivors include his son, Roy Lee Osborne of Corinth; two grandsons, Jerry Sullivan of Dallas and Jeff Sullivan of Lewisville; two sisters, Wilda Brothers and Teenie Waite both of Gloversville, New York; and a number of nephews and nieces.The family suggests memorials be made to Home Hospice, 111 E. 7th, Big Spring, Texas 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
