Chester Ben Taylor, 98, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, formerly of Lamesa, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in an Albuquerque nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Lamesa Memorial Park with Derrick Looney officiating. He was born on September 22, 1906, in Salado, Texas.Mr Taylor came to West Texas in 1936 and farmed in the following communities: Ackerly, Soash, Brown, Courtney, Tarzan and Lamesa. In 1956 he left the farm and moved to Lamesa and went to work for the City of Lamesa in the water department, retiring in 1972. He continued to live in Lamesa and Tarzan until 1998 when he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Joe Taylor of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Larry Taylor of Midland; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, three sisters and two granddaughters. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
