Marion Cauley, 86, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 19, 2004, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dennis Teeters, pastor of First Baptist Church, and Rev. Doug Shelley, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.She was born on August 21, 1918, in Mexia, Texas and married Dr. Marshall Quentin Cauley, optometrist, on February 2, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1996.Mrs. Cauley was raised in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University. She had worked at the Lubbock Army Airfield during World War II. She moved to Big Spring in 1949 and had worked as the attendance clerk at Big Spring High School from 1962 to 1967 and then worked as secretary to Dr. Wayne Bonner at Howard College. She later worked with her husband and her son in their practices.She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Quester's Sunday School Class and sang in the church choir for many years. She had a beautiful voice and led the songs at the General Assembly of the Sunday School department for many years. She was a member of the Junior Woman's Forum and then the Woman's Forum.Marion was very talented and did beautiful crafts, including crosstitch and needlepoint. She did a beautiful needlepoint of the Questor's Sunday School Class Watchword, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Richard and Deede Cauley of Big Spring, and Drs. Lynn and Stephanie Cauley of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two grandsons, Grayson Marshall Cauley and Carter Boston Cauley; two sisters, Landa Williamson of Midland and Norma McBee of Brownfield and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
