Mary E. Leek, 84, of Sherman, formerly of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Monroe Teeters, officiating.She was born on February 1, 1920, in Denton County, Texas and married Charles N. Leek on April 17, 1943 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1995.She came to Big Spring in 1954 from Rosemark, Tennessee and was a homemaker.Mary was a charter member of Berea Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Big Spring Prospector's Club, the Odessa Prospector's Club, the VFW and the Friendship Club.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Thelma Leek of Sherman; one sister, Mamie Porter of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Mary Ford and husband, Robert, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Teresa Duley, Elora Ford, Kenneth Gray and Michael Ford all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces & nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
