*Media Obituary* Robert M. Dean, 81, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2002, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Patrick, chaplain of Baptist Memorial Center, San Angelo, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on February 10, 1921 in Dawson, Texas and married Betty Louise Nebrig on August 30, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He served in the United States Army, 13th Infantry Regiment, 8th Division from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. Mr. Dean lived in Big Spring for the past 50 years where he owned and operated an insurance adjusting company, Dean Claim Service. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, a past member of the Lions Club, chairman of the Draft Board and a member of the Texas Independent Insurance Association. He was also an avid supporter of the Texas Tech Ex-Student Association and Red Raider Club. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Dean of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert, Jr. (Robb) and Linda Dean of Rowlett; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Steve Yantis of Castroville, Susie and Mark Mercer of Nairobi, Kenya, and Terri and Chris Chaney of Big Spring, and ten grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Welby Jackson, Roy Hobbs, Neal Bryant, Ernie Boyd, Ervin Fisher, A.J. Dean, and A.A. Cooper.
