Esther Navarette Hernandez

Esther Navarette Hernandez, 59, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2001, in a Lubbock hospital. Vigil services will be at 8:00 PM Friday, December 7, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral mass will be at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 8, 2001, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. James Plagens and Rev. Felix Cubelo, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on November 11, 1942 in Big Spring, Texas and married Raul Hernandez on April 6, 1959 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1997. Mrs. Hernandez was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She received her Bachelor degree from Sul Ross State University in 1971. She was a teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Forsan ISD in 1999 after 13 years with the school system. She enjoyed family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed working with ceramics, painting and shopping. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include four sons, Javier Hernandez, Oscar Hernandez and Jon Ray Hernandez all of Big Spring and Peter Hernandez of Austin; two brothers, Primitivo Navarette of El Paso and Rey Navarette of Carrollton; one sister, Elena Anguiano of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Monica Hernandez, O. J. Hernandez, Josh Hernandez, Adrian Hernandez and Allison Hernandez; and one great grandchild, Caleb Hernandez. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
