Ella Neill Carroll, 84, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, May 3, 2001, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Dianne Brown, minister of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. She was born on July 8, 1916 in Big Spring, Texas and married Wesley C. Carroll on October 11, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1975. Mrs. Carroll was the daughter of George and Ella Neill and was a lifetime resident of Howard County. She was employed in the Men's Department at Hemphill Wells and later at Dunlap's. She then worked for Tex-Pure Water Systems retiring in 1990. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Ella Neill Circle at the church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Genie Carroll of Big Spring; a daughter and son-in-law, Ellouise and Don Swinney of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Kirk Swinney and wife, Jan, of Austin, Lisa Swinney of Big Spring, Tim Carroll of Lubbock and Amy Carroll of Cedar Park; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and good friends, Emily Easley, Winnie Hardegree, Margaret Whitefield, Mattie Roberts and JoAnn Dickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandson. Pallbearers will be Joe Wennik, Bob Wheeler, Paul Webb, Stanley Haney, George Neill and Dan Wise. The family suggest memorials to: First Presbyterian Church, 701 Runnels, Big Spring, Texas, 79720. The family will be at 801 Highland Drive.
