Floy Burns

Floy Burns, 98, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2001, in a Lubbock care center. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 21, 2001, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with Rev. Jess Colegrove, pastor of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church, officiating. She was born on September 8, 1903 in Hartwell, Texas and married Morris Burns. He preceded her in death. Floy came to Knott with her family, who were pioneer settlers, as a young girl. She taught school for many years at Knott and Coolidge, Arizona, before returning to Big Spring in March 1996. She was a member of Birdwell Lane Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Jo Davis of Lubbock; one brother, John McGregor of Colorado City and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
