Garrison N. Walker, 73, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, September 2, 2001, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 4, 2001, at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Rev. Dianne Brown, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. He was born on March 24, 1928 in Yanceyville, North Carolina and married Francys Weir on April 22, 1972 in Big Spring. Garrison served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He was an operator at the Fina refinery until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #1340 and the Lubbock Consistory of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. Survivors include his wife, Francys Walker of Big Spring; one son, Gary Walker of Midland; one daughter, Joyce Gibbs of Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-daughters, Danna Martin of Midland and Debbie Butler of Odessa; three sisters, Sarah Cobb of Haw River, North Carolina, Edith Anderson and Ruth Walker of Burlington, North Carolina; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will recieve friends from 4:00 to 5:00 PM Monday, September 3, 2001, at the funeral home.
