Ronald Carter Ray of Midland, Texas, 78 passed away on January 3, 2017.Ron was born in Ada Oklahoma to the late William Carter and Naomi Waters Ray on September 21, 1938. He graduated from Odessa High School and joined the Navy in September 1954. After completing 8 years in the Navy and Air Force as an electrician, he started his life long career as a Computer Field Service Engineer with GE/Honeywell, Digital Equipment, Arco Permian Basin and Northrup Grumman. Ron was a jack-of-all-trades and loved to work with his hands. He restored automobiles, enjoyed woodworking, and excelled at auto mechanics. He believed in doing everything himself and was always found busy fixing and improving his homes and the homes of his children.Ron is survived by wife Dian, Children Tammy Ray of Austin, Rebecca Ray of New Braunfels, Kelly Ray Hunker and husband Jeff of Albuquerque, and Adam Ray of Austin. Grandchildren, Martin Cerecedes and wife Kianna, Eric Hardee, Hannah Padilla, Candelaria, Danielle and Adeline Ray, and Hayden Hunker. Great Grandchildren, Jonas, Cade, Jayde, Lillee, Kaila, Liam, Arabella, and Abram. Sister Marsha Chesnut Williams of Odessa, and brother Rocky Ray of Crane. And many beloved nephews and nieces.Ron is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terry Ray of Lafayette.The Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, January 6, at Christ Church Anglican, 5501 N.
