Florencia Gamboa, 97, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. She was born August 10, 1916 in Marfa, Texas and married Elias Gamboa, Sr. July 9, 1931 in Big Spring. He preceded her in death August 2, 1991. She moved to Big Spring from Marfa at the age of seven and made Big Spring her home. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and the Guadalupana Society. Survivors include one son, Elias Gamboa, Jr. and wife, Donna of Big Spring; three daughters, Alena Lara of San Angelo, Natalia Viera and husband, Daniel of Antioch, California and Yolanda Arispe and husband, Jose of El Paso; and six generations of grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Manuela Galan and Viola Rodriguez; and one son, Gilbert Gamboa.
